It’s All About The Scales

If you want to be able to play great guitar solos you have to absolutely master scales. By master I mean you have to really internalize the scales. You have to be able to hear them in your ears and visualize them (on the fretboard) with your eyes.

Learn A Variety Of Scales

If you want your guitar solos to avoid the boredom factor then you will definitely want to learn more than just the basic pentatonic scale. It’s a good idea to learn all kinds of scales from blues scales to jazz scales to more exotic “ethnic” scales.

The Blues Scale

A great scale to start off with is the blues scale as it’s so often used in rock n roll music. The blues scale is a 6 tone minor scale. It’s just like the minor pentatonic scale except a flatted 5th is added to it.

An Example Of A Blues Scale

In the key of E, a blues scale includes the following notes: E, G, A, Bb, B, & D. It’s a good idea to not just learn the “boxes” but to learn what notes you are playing too. This will allow you to have a better idea of what you are doing so that you can make your scales more musical sounding.

Be Musical

In order to really have a great guitar soloing technique by mastering guitar scales you need to approach them from a musical stand point. That means not just playing scales up and down but only using them as a foundation for your melodic expressions. In order to do this well you will need to be thinking in terms of notes, not in terms of patterns.

If you have been looking for DJ equipment, you may be wondering where to go to find the best deals. It can be hard finding DJ equipment, let alone finding the best deals! This article, however will show you several options and sources which can allow you to find the best deals.

DJ equipment is not readily available, though it is popular, it is not as popular as televisions or computers, so finding DJ equipment won’t be something you will find on every street corner with stores!

So what are you to do? Some consumer electronic stores will have DJ products, and you may find turntables. However, often these equipment are the less needed belt drive versions. So basically you have a limited range of choice.

So what are the other options? One of them is direct mail. Many magazines dedicated to music and musicians have advertisements for DJ products.

The problem with this option is that you don’t see much information on the product. Though prices are great, often delivery for these items takes a while. So you could find yourself waiting as long as 14 days or longer for delivery.

Another solution is to go online, where you can find a great amount of stores selling DJ equipment. This is a great option due to the huge number of options.

Often online stores will have much better prices than retail equivalents. The saving the stores make by not needing expensive retail space, as well as, as many sales staff getting commissions, then they pass savings onto you!

The result is immense, and prices which are totally amazing, when compared with specialist stores. These online companies deliver, which is a bonus, and what’s more they generally can have a wider range of products.

I’m trying to buy my boyfriend a turntable for his birthday. He’s very musical, plays multiple instruments and records his own music. He’s interested in sampling and has started collecting vinyl. I want to get him the best quality I can afford (max price range about $250) but I have no idea what to buy. I know he is currently using the Ableton Live 7 program for some of his other projects.
iPod is the latest sensation in the market and it has completely replaced the old portable devices for listening music. Transferring the latest songs to iPod is easy, you can just download the song and sync the iPod through iTunes and do the transfer. What happens when you want to Convert LPs to iPod?

Believe me, It is a great amount of work and in fact, very tedious. First you need to get all sort of cables to connect your turntable to your computer and since the most turntables don’t have an in-built amplifier, you might just end up getting a poor quality recording. No Joy. If you are not an expert in recording, you may buy sound card to get the quality recordings and It might not work as well.

You need to record from your turntable to your computer and then edit the recordings to save them in mp3 format. Then sync the iPod and transfer songs from your compute to iPod. This process takes really long time.

Now your don’t need to go through all this, there is a hardware device called LP to iPod Converter which does the job really easy. All you need to do is, play the LP and put your iPod on the dock of this LP to iPod Converter. By using this device, you can easily Convert LPs to iPod and save lots of time and hassle. This device automatically save the music to iPod in mp3 format and you are ready to listen it as soon as you finish the recording from turntable.

Apart from this, you can use this LP to iPod Converter to play your precious records and convert them to iPod If you want. This device also acts as a USB sound card. It means that you can connect this turntable to USB port of your computer and It will act as a sound card! What else you need?

Carrie Underwood came to Fresno on May 28, 2008, and had her valley fans in frenzy when she appeared on stage to promote her latest album.

I must admit, I only knew a few songs. One of them being the “cheater” athemn of the year. “I dug my key into the side of his pretty little souped-up four wheel drive carved my name into his leather seat…” but with that I mind I really did not know what to expect.

I was pleased. Well, sort of. I cannot really complain. I did not pay for the tickets. For a free show, It was not too bad. The music was great and she has a wonderful voice. Hence, the reason she won American Idol. She was pleasant to the audience. She interacted with us and cheered everyone along as we sang with her. (Well only one song for me.) It was a great concert if the music is all you are going for. Miss Underwood is certainly not an entertainer. Even though there were costume changes and a cat -walk there was nothing to the show.

Sure there were bigger than life screens above the stage, but nothing to make you say “WOW”! Or even want to go see her again in the next town. It almost like watching a rock concrete but at least they have dancers or something a little more appealing. It was very hard for Miss Underwood to walk her heels. (Something that most artist learn the second they make it.) Her costumes were pretty plain. The first was a tank and jeans, a purple ballroom dress; that eventually turned into cocktail dress, another tank and jeans, and last, the same tank and jeans with a silver jacket over her tom.

The outfits were very plain. Something maybe should be kept in mind the next time she comes around. Maybe some dancers or even models that could walk the cat-walk when she sang “All-American Girl”. Or possibly little skits by her band mates that just stood there as the lazers made cool pictures in the back of the staduim.

All in all, for a free concert, for me, it was not that bad. Good family fun if you know her music and do not want much of a show. It is a good thing she has never claimed to be an entertainer.

When conducting a raffle to raise money, the best raffle prize is often one which is donated. This allows all of the collected raffle money to be used by the organization.

But if no appropriate donations are forthcoming, another option is to buy an inexpensive raffle prize. The rationale of this approach is that your modest investment (i.e. buying the prize) will be handsomely rewarded in many raffle ticket sales. Your target market will be excited about winning the prize, and will therefore buy multiple raffle tickets.

If you’ve reached that point where you are looking to buy the prize, consider shopping (or at least monitoring) the Website Woot. Woot sells one product per day, and its prices are worth watching.

Here’s how Woot works:

Woot sells one product per day until it’s sold out, or until 11:59 PM central time when that item is replaced with a new product. If the featured daily item sells out, you must wait until midnight to learn about the new featured product.

Most of the prices (current as of August 2009) seem to be about 50% of what that same item might cost elsewhere.

* Philips 52? 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV: Woot sold at $1200; Amazon lists at $2115.

* Memorex 4GB Media Player: Woot sold for $30; various stores list at $60 to $150

* Ion Audio USB Turntable (This system enables you to play records and record directly into your MP3 player.): Woot sold for $50; Wal-mart lists at $115

* Dell Inspiron Dual Core 1.8 Ghz 14? Notebook: Woot sold for $439.

Here are some other reasons to enjoy Woot:

Shipping is an easy-to-calculate flat rate of $5.00. Regardless of whether you buy a $40 item or a $1000 item, or whether you buy one item or three items, the shipping is $5.00. Missed an item? Wait for a Woot-Off. During a Woot-Off, all of the items which didn’t sell out are offered for sale again (at the same price as before). So, if 40 routers and 125 weather stations didn’t sell, those items would be sold – one product after another – during the day of the Woot-Off. If you didn’t buy the product during its 24-hour window, you might be able to buy it during the Woot-Off. The site is fun to read because it’s cleverly written. The first person to buy each day is called the “First Sucker.” On the “What is Woot” page, the authors write, “We anticipate profitability by 2043.” The site allows you to see cool statistics. By clicking into the “comments” area of any product, you can see some interesting metrics about Woot’s sales. For instance, you’ll see that Woot is most popular in the Midwest, and you can review sales-by-hour to see when Woot sells the most product. Woot has an engaged user community with product feedback. If you like to read product opinions, you’ll find many useful comments from Woot’s buyers.

As a side, cameras (regular and video cameras) are good raffle items, and these items seem to come up for sale regularly on the site. Keep your eyes peeled – a good deal might be on sale today.

I want to make a purchase on turntables and i just wanted to know the diffrence between the two. pleasee hellp
Many people who have tried to learn guitar have failed miserably. It is unfortunate because most of these people actually have the motivation and the time to put into learning. They are just simply instructed the wrong way. Most cases of failure occur because people are looking for the easy way to learn from their friends. This is not the best way to go in most cases because your friends will usually just get frustrated. What I mean by this is they usually start playing a song while you are sitting there trying to figure out if your fingers are in the right place for the g chord they just quickly showed you. Your friend showing off in front of you is not an efficient way to have beginner guitar lessons. It’s just an opinion, and I know him showing off in front of you may be good motivation for you to get better then him but it’s not a good way to learn. In order for you to get easy guitar lessons which will enable you to learn how and what you want to learn you must have professional help.

Being a guitar instructor myself I know how hard it is to learn how to play guitar because I have seen the struggles of my students throughout the years. Along with many other attributes you need to learn guitar one of the top ones are to stay motivated and focused on your goals. Having someone like me around to teach you would be great if I were there to help you every hour of the day. Too bad myself and other guitar instructors are not available at the times you are.

Which brings me to my next point. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a guitar instructor be available for you at all times of the day?

Well of course it would, which is why I did some research on different programs you can buy to teach you easy guitar lessons. Throughout my research I found a bunch of products I would not recommend and I would prefer not to name any names. I did however come across one program in particular called Jamorama which I was thoroughly impressed with for their complete easy guitar lessons online.

They not only had 24/7 support but they have wonderful interactive videos that really show you how to play a guitar with no problem. The good thing about these professional rendered videos are that they go at a good pace for you to learn with – and of course you can pause them if the information is going too fast for you.

Along with these videos, they include two free guitar teaching computer games which teach you things no normal guitar teacher can teach you in an hour lesson… not even me.

Usually the guides which are included in the beginner guitar lessons are boring, but the one in Jamorama is not. All 252 pages and 44 chapters of lessons are packed with information for your use at any convenient time for your easy guitar lessons online.

I would definitely recommend Jamorama. If you would like more information on the product click on the link below.

I have all these old classical albums, and can’t really afford a USB turntable, so was wondering if there was anyway to convert a regular turntable into one.
The exceptionally talented Rock group Machine Head have released their CD entitled Supercharger. I am very confident and happy to announce that I believe Machine Head fans, and Rock fans alike will be pleased with this one. With the release of Supercharger their artistic excellence is on full display as they have once again delivered a brilliant collection of tracks that could very well be their best work to date.

I wish it weren’t the case but, it’s not everyday that I get a CD for review that I can just pop in and comfortably listen to from beginning to end. There is usually a song or two that I just can’t force myself to get through. Not at all the case with Supercharger. Every track is enjoyable and was pretty easy for me to listen to from start to finish.

One of the refreshingly nice things about this CD is the way all of the participating artists seem to be really enjoying themselves. Combine that with the overall presentation and you’ve got one of Machine Head most impressive releases ever.

Overall Supercharger is an outstanding release. What I call must have music. I give it two thumbs up and is most definitely a worthy addition to any Rock collection. Truly an outstanding Rock CD. One of those that is completely void of any wasted time, as each track is simply superb.

While the entire album is really very good the truly standout tunes are track 4 – Crashing Around You, track 5 – Kick You When You’re Down, and track 14 – Supercharger.

My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 1 – Declaration. Good stuff!

Machine Head originally released Supercharger on October 2, 2001 on the Roadrunner Records label.
