I purchased my first vinyls in the 50s - a 45rpm cost about one dollar then. LPs in the 50s/60s were usually about $5-$7. Ah, the good old daze.

I remember in about 1977-1979, our local record store would always have a few 45s (singles) on sale for 99 cents, but the most of the rest were usually anywhere from $1.50 to $2.00.

Albums would go on sale for $4.99, but usually you'd see them sell for $6.99 to $9.99, more for those wild double albums (Frampton Comes Alive for example lol) or the special ones with different coloured vinyl or pictures on the vinyl.

This was in Canada btw

Lol @ Leo Sayer Jenny (when I neeeeeeeeed you)

I have some LP's which still have the price of $4.99. This is early stuff like Beatles, Rolling Stones etc. This would have been when I first started to buy my own albums and that was about '69. I know I have some EP's which have a price of $1 on them, they look about 1980's which was Leo Sayer (god help me). Hope this helps..
