I have an idea for the decoration of my room which involves about 40 vinyl records. I’ve looked on eBay but can’t find any that will ship to the Philippines. Plus, shipping is expensive. Is there anywhere in the Philippines where I could buy really cheap 12 vinyl records? (i don’t care if they’re broken)
How interesting are Hip Hop Records?

Hip hop music, also known as the rap music, is a modern form of music. This type of music is available in the hip hop records. The music does not include lyrical styles. It is made up of two elements, rapping and record scratching. You may call rapping as MCing and DJing. This is also known as audio mixing. If you listen to the records, you will find that the music is mainly instrumental and based on drum beat, sampling and bassline.

• Sampling: Sampling is used in modern type of hip hop. In this type, the producers create original recordings using beats generated from the computer. Sampling is very important in this music. The samples are usually taken from vinyl and are transferred to the samplers or sequencers.

• A bassline: This is a core part of hip hop. It is exclusively used for the low-pitched instrument.

• A drum beat: The drum beat is another essential element of hip hop production. The quality of the recording greatly depends on the speed and complexity of the drum beat. Some of the beats are sample beats; others are generated from the drum machines like Alesis SR-16 or Roland TR-808.The TR-808 cowbell is used in the hip hop production, to generate a better sound for the recording.

The music was invented by the African Americans, Latinos and Hispanics. It was invented in the New York City, in the early seventies. The legend of this music, Kool DJ Herc and Grandmaster Flash later started with the scratching and remixing techniques in the hip-hop music.

Proficient hip hop musicians now use live instrumentation, sequencers, synthesizers, samplers and turntables. The samplers and sequencers allow the musical beats to be played accurately. Kurtis Blow is the first artist to use a digital sampler. This has possibly increased the craze of hip hop music to a great extent. Possibly for such a reason, the records are in great demand.

Today, hip hop records are in great demand by people all over the world. The youth of the present generation are crazy for the records. Despite several controversies there has been a rapid increase in production and sale of the records over time. You can purchase the records from anywhere, around the world. In the present days, the records are also available online.

Not sure what’s happening with me on this one, but it seems like the more I listen to it, the better Gambling With The Devil gets. Gambling With The Devil put simply is one of their best CDs to date.

The CD launches with a great track, Crack The Riddle, that I suspect will be heard on radio stations everywhere, and deservedly so. It’s a really nice track.

Gambling With The Devil is a nicely varied, mix of 12 tracks that are very well written and brilliantly performed songs by these clearly talented musicians. Most of the songs display a lot of the kind emotion that makes for a really great listen. Seemingly drawing from what I can only imagine are their own personal experiences. At different points touching on the most real emotions of love, and the pain of failed relationships can certainly be heard.

I’m of the opinion that Gambling With The Devil is certainly some of this groups best work in a few years. A totally enjoyable CD and an outstanding release. What I call must have music. I give it two thumbs up because it’s a collection that even the casual Heavy Metal fan can appreciate and enjoy.

While this entire CD is really very good the truly standout tunes are track 2 – Kill It, track 7 – The Bells Of The 7 Hells, and track 12 – Heaven Tells No Lies.

My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 10 – Can Do It. It’s a great track!

Are you into music? If so, then perhaps its time to take music to the next level. Buying turntables allows you to make that happen, and this article will help you in finding out more about turntables and what is next! So join me as we look deeper into buying turntables.

It is one thing to listen to music, it is a far different reality to be able to mix music. Suddenly compilations don’t quite do it. You have a new edge, and when you listen to music, you might know certain tracks would be better together.

So the desire for DJ’ing is born! It is the most fascinating way to make progress! And this is an immense hobby which one day could pay for itself, and further catapult you to stardom!

So what is required? The DJ has a few pieces of equipment that are essential. The first is turntables. And when buying turntables you will be presented with 2 types. One is direct drive and the other is belt drive. But, if you really are serious about DJ’ing, then it is a wise idea to invest into direct drive turntables.

When buying turntables, you will need to remember to buy two! One turntable is no way to be able to mix, and there is a need for 2!

Next you need a mixer, and these sometimes can be found as part of turntables. Often you will want to buy this separate, and it enables you to switch between the turntables, as well as do some amazing stuff on higher end versions like add special effects!

The most important aspect is the music. And a good DJ will have lots of records or CD’s. I have seen DJ’s with several room full of records! So once you buy turntables, you will want to stock up and invest in music. More you have the better.

Remember practice makes perfect, and practice each day, and you could find that you could become the next Carl Cox!

I have a ton of vinyl records and would like to be able to put them onto my computer so I can transfer them to an iPod or a Zune so I can listen to them. How do you get music off of vinyl and onto a computer in Mp3 format? I have a record player and a computer, but no idea how to link the 2. Suggestions?

Quite simply, a so-called “360 deal” in the music business refers to the recent modern practice of record companies brokering deals with artists that are “all encompassing” in terms of revenue streams. Live Nation’s signings of Madonna and Jay-Z are high-profile 360 deals…the long-term success of which remains to be seen.

Tennessee’s young band Paramore, fronted by Hayley Williams, have stated their “360″ deal has helped them develop as a group.

Still, the practice is novel and barely tested.

Traditionally, record companies were in the business of selling records (including all formats such as vinyl, tape, and CD). The CD (Compact Disc) was the most profitable for the labels as they are the cheapest to produce (compared to vinyl or tape) and, for the first few years of CDs at least, brought a retail price as high as $20 or more! That enormous profit margin (we now know that a blank CD costs just pennies!) provided record executives with the glut, the excessive lifestyles and the fame which from the mid-sixties to around year 2000 was synonymous with the “Music Biz.”

But the glut is over. CD sales are on a downward spiral that many think won’t stop until virtually no CDs are sold through traditional retail outlets. Big established record chains, including Tower Records, have quit. Those massive traditional record profits are gone.

This fact of life has forced the enterprising record labels to try to get a piece of all the ancillary action surrounding a hit recording act: publishing, concert receipts, merchandise sales (which can be huge) and other related artist revenue sources. Thus the name “360″…as in the whole pie.
